The third night

Up on a hill
Slowly a moon creeps
Above the horizon
Rising for the third time
Friends come together
Laughter binds the hearts
My good Lord, I’m having a temperature rise
Snuggled inside my sleeping bag
Covered all over
Warming my aching bones and limbs
The rain falls a thousand cries
A river sings from the foot of the mountain
The falls hums the song of the mountain deities
I still long to see the falling star
Wishing
Under a full moon
